Unitarian Universalist Meeting

House of Provincetown

Covid-19 Pandemic Policy

After careful consideration of the rapidly declining case rates, updated UUA guidance about risk mitigation, and current hospital capacity on the Outer Cape, the Board voted to return to having hybrid worship services effective February 27th. (In other words, returning to both in-person & live-streamed options.) The Meetinghouse will open to public events like 12 Step meetings and rentals the following Sunday, on March 6th.

Our safety procedures include indoor masking and vaccination for in-person attendance at worship. We continue to have coffee hour online on Tuesdays at 5pm.

A fully vaccinated soloist will sing onstage with rapid Covid testing of the singer immediately before the service.

As of April 17th, the center and left-hand side of the sanctuary have open seating. Distanced seating (with taped-off pews) is available on the right-hand side of the sanctuary.

We know there are a range of feelings about this. Some may think it's too soon; others may believe we're being too cautious. These decisions are informed by safety concerns and trying to balance our values with the knowledge that Covid is slowly becoming endemic. We know we'll have to learn how to resume our worship life balanced with care for ourselves and others.

There is a range of opinions on the Board and in our Congregation. We are truly grateful for the respectful and conscientious discussions the Board has had and for the patience and consideration of the Congregation.
